Terms of Use

1. Purpose

IslandDex (the “service”) is a community directory of Fortnite Creative maps, available through a website and a mobile app. It lets you discover maps, publish them, attach a thumbnail to them, and view public stats. By using the service, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use it.

Your username and avatar are visible to other users: they must not impersonate anyone, be abusive or inappropriate. We may refuse, edit or remove a username or avatar that doesn't follow these rules.

2. No affiliation with Epic Games

IslandDex is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Epic Games, Inc. “Fortnite” and related trademarks are the property of Epic Games, Inc. The statistics shown come from Epic Games' public API; they are provided for informational purposes only, with no guarantee of accuracy or availability.

3. Account and sign-in

Browsing the service doesn't require an account. An account is required to publish a map, like a map, favorite it, add a thumbnail, claim a creator name and receive alerts. Sign-in is done through a third-party provider (Google or Epic Games); we never receive your password. You are responsible for the activity carried out from your account.

The service is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 15, you must have your parents' or legal guardians' authorization to create an account and to purchase credits or paid options.

4. Published content

You remain the owner of the content you publish (title, description, tags, thumbnails). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display and promote it within the service, for as long as it stays published. You guarantee that you hold the necessary rights over this content and over the map you submit.

A map can be submitted by any user, but its information (title, genre, tags, description, thumbnail) can only be edited by creators who have claimed its creator name through the service's process. Anyone else can report inaccurate information or inappropriate content.

It is forbidden to publish:

• illegal, hateful, violent, pornographic content, or content meant to harass others;
• content that infringes a third party's rights (copyright, trademark, image rights);
• a map you're not legitimately entitled to promote by falsely claiming to have created it;
• misleading advertising links or messages, spam, or content unrelated to Fortnite Creative.

We may remove any content that doesn't comply with these rules or with Epic Games' own terms, and suspend the accounts involved, without notice in case of a serious breach.

5. AI-generated thumbnails and credits

From your UEFN Tools space, you can generate a thumbnail using an artificial intelligence provider (Google, Gemini model). Each generation or edit uses credits from your account, topped up by buying a pack (see section 6); if it fails technically, the credits used are automatically refunded. The result is generated automatically and may not exactly match your expectations. You are responsible for the scene description, skin name and any source image you submit, which must not break the rules in section 4; it is your responsibility to check, before publishing in UEFN, that a named skin is actually available as a UEFN asset and that any object or weapon shown matches your island's actual playable content. Generated thumbnails are kept and public (see our privacy policy). Thumbnail generation from map pages (Mistral AI provider) remains currently suspended.

6. Purchases

Credit packs, featured map slots and themed cursors are digital content and services. On the mobile app, they are paid for through the app stores' in-app purchase system (Apple App Store, Google Play); on the website, through Stripe. Prices are shown tax included before purchase. Credits are consumable and tied to your account. A featured slot improves a map's visibility for its duration, without guaranteeing any number of views or players. In accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, you acknowledge that performance of these digital services starts as soon as you purchase, with your agreement, and that you then waive your right of withdrawal, to the extent permitted by law. Refund requests go through the relevant app store for an in-app purchase, or in writing to contact@kurtystudio.fr for a purchase made on the website.

7. Usage rules

You agree not to disrupt the service (attacks, mass data scraping, bypassing technical limits or the credit system), not to impersonate another creator, and to comply with applicable law.

8. Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is”. We make our best efforts to keep it available, with no guarantee against interruptions or errors. To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for content published by users, for data provided by Epic Games, or for any indirect damage. These limitations don't apply where the law forbids them, particularly for consumers.

9. Intellectual property

The service, its brand, design and code are protected. Maps, names, images and trademarks belonging to third parties, notably Epic Games, belong to their respective owners.

10. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time, from the app or the site (account menu, “Delete my account”), or by writing to us. The maps you've submitted are kept but are no longer linked to you (see the Delete my account page). We may suspend or delete an account for non-compliance with these terms. How your personal data is handled is described in our privacy policy.

11. Rewards program

The service offers a rewards program: certain actions useful to the community (for example, getting a map you've submitted approved, verifying a creator name, signing in regularly, or referring a new member) earn points and experience (XP), which determine a rank and badges. Points, XP, ranks and badges have no monetary value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are not a vested right: we may change the reward scale and the perks on offer. Only contributions that comply with the rules in section 4 are rewarded; when a contribution is withdrawn (for example, a deleted map), what it earned may be taken back. We may remove points, XP or badges obtained through abuse and suspend the account involved. Points and XP are deleted with the account.

Public leaderboards (monthly, all-time) and a hall of fame display participants' username, avatar, rank and XP; participants can choose not to appear there. At the end of each month, the top 10 receive the “Top contributor” title and the top 3 receive free featured-map days, usable once featuring is available. We may correct or cancel a placement or a reward obtained outside the service's rules.

Referrals are reserved for genuinely distinct people: self-referrals, creating multiple accounts or using fake accounts to obtain rewards are forbidden. The reward is only paid once the new member has had their first map approved.

Points can be redeemed in the shop for days of featuring one of your maps (capped at 3 days per month), and days earned on the monthly leaderboard's podium are used the same way. Featuring only applies to a visible map whose creator name you've claimed (having only submitted it isn't enough), and only one free featured slot can be active on a map at a time. A redemption is final: spent points are not refundable, except for an error on our part. Featuring is extra visibility within the service (a “featured” strip, a dedicated sort order), with no guaranteed outcome, and may be removed if the map no longer complies with the service's rules.

Points can also be redeemed, one at a time, for a themed mouse cursor from those offered in the shop; the pack of all four cursors can also be bought with money, via Stripe. An unlocked cursor is tied to your account and stays that way for as long as it exists. Like other redemptions, spending points on a cursor is final and non-refundable; a money purchase follows the same sale terms as the service's other purchases (see section 6).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page; in case of a significant change, we'll let you know within the service. Continuing to use it after an update means you accept it.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first; consumers can also turn to a consumer mediator. For any question: contact@kurtystudio.fr.
